Steering committees read titles first. This deck is built so every slide has one idea and one headline, and the overall rating and the decision you need sit on the executive summary, not on page 8.

Slides 2 to 9 are the template: title, agenda, executive summary with ratings, schedule and milestones, budget, risks and issues, the decision requested, and next steps. Slides 11 to 19 show a finished deck for the Feb 16, 2027 Northwind meeting.

  • Template slides. Title, agenda, executive summary, schedule, budget, risks and issues, decision requested and next steps.
  • Executive summary. Overall rating plus schedule, budget, scope, risks and resources, each with one line, and three key messages.
  • Decision slide. The ask, why now, what happens if we wait, and options with a recommendation.
  • Meeting rhythm. Steering meets monthly. Send the deck two business days ahead, plan 35 minutes with 10 for the decision, and record decisions in the change log the same day.

Also included in Complete Toolkit ($99), Communication and Closeout Pack ($29), Executive Reporting Kit ($27).

Licensed for use by the individual purchaser on their own projects. The Northwind example slides can be deleted.

A quick tour of the deck, narrated by Cassandra Taylor, PMP: what goes on each slide and what the finished example looks like.

A steering committee gives you thirty five minutes. Ten of them are for the decision, so lead with the ask.

I'm Cassandra Taylor, and this is the Steering Committee Deck. A PowerPoint template with eight ready slides, plus a finished Northwind example. Steering meets monthly, the deck goes out two business days ahead, and decisions hit the change log the same day.

Lead with the answer. The executive summary opens with one sentence, an overall rating, and five ratings for schedule, budget, scope, risks and resources. Northwind is Amber. Go live holds, but float is gone, and the ask is on the page: approve change request three.

One idea per slide. Here are three conflicts, one card each. The security report was late, and is resolved. Brightpath's build slipped, and used the float. The Facilities work orders need a decision today.

The milestone table answers one question: is go live still on track? The security assessment and the integration build each slipped six weeks. But UAT, training and go live hold, with go live on May 24.

The budget slide answers the next question. 47% is spent, $225,500 of a $480,000 baseline. $20,000 of contingency is untouched, and $38,000 is pending for decision.

Keep the risk slide to five items. Each has a type, an owner, a rating and a response. Northwind leads with the loss of float, owned by Jordan Ellis, with a weekly build check.

Then ask for the decision, in the title. Approve change request three for $38,000. Funding is $20,000 of contingency plus $18,000 of new money. Show three options, and mark your recommendation.

Close with next steps. Each action has an owner and a due date, and the timeline shows UAT, training and go live.

Lead with the answer, and make the decision easy. Add the Steering Committee Deck to your cart, and walk into every meeting ready.
