A RACI chart answers the question that sinks more projects than any bad plan: who actually owns this? When two people think they are accountable, work is done twice or argued over. When nobody is, it does not get done.

This workbook gives you one row per deliverable or activity and one column per person or group. Each cell takes R, A, C, I or A/R. The Check column catches rows with no Accountable, more than one Accountable, or no Responsible, and the load counts show who is carrying too much.

  • RACI Matrix. Pick a phase, type each deliverable or activity, and assign R, A, C, I or A/R. Formulas are pre-filled for 100 rows.
  • Check column. Flags any row with no Accountable, more than one Accountable, or no Responsible.
  • Roles. Type up to 12 people or groups with a title once, and their names flow into the matrix column headers.
  • Load limits. Set the most R and A assignments one person should hold on Settings (defaults 10 and 8). Anyone over the limit is marked.

Also included in Complete Toolkit ($99), Initiation and Planning Pack ($49), Project Kickoff Kit ($35).

Includes a How to Use guide tab. The green Example tabs stand alone and can be deleted. Licensed for use by the individual purchaser on their own projects.

A quick tour of the workbook, narrated by Cassandra Taylor, PMP: what goes in, what calculates for you and what the RACI Matrix shows.

When everyone is responsible, no one is accountable. That is how deliverables fall through the cracks.

I'm Cassandra Taylor, and this is the RACI Chart. One workbook, in Excel or Google Sheets, that shows who does what, one row per deliverable and one column per person.

Mark each cell R, A, C or I. Responsible does the work. Accountable owns the result and signs it off. Consulted gives input first. Informed hears the outcome after.

Then it checks your work. Every row needs exactly one Accountable, and at least one Responsible. The chart counts them, and flags any row with none, or with two. Here, all twenty-five activities pass.

It checks the load too. Set the limits once, and the Roles tab counts what each person carries. Here, the project manager is Responsible for eleven activities, one over the limit of ten, and is flagged Over limit.

You're the conductor of the orchestra. I stay ready, so I don't have to get ready, right? Add the RACI Chart to your cart and settle who owns what today.

What's inside

Tabs

How to Use, RACI Matrix, Roles and Settings, plus Example RACI Matrix and Example Roles.

Worked example

25 activities across eight phases with 16 people and groups for the Northwind ITSM project. Change approvals follow the charter: PM up to $5,000, sponsor up to $25,000, CFO above that.

Ground rules

One A per row. Use C sparingly, and I for people who only need to hear the outcome.
