Most projects do not fail because the plan was wrong. They fail because a person with power was never brought along. The register holds the detail on everyone who can make or break your project and how you will keep them engaged.

Score each stakeholder for power and interest from 1 to 5, and the register sets their quadrant, measures the gap between current and desired engagement and puts them on a contact schedule. Fifteen sample stakeholders from the fictional Northwind case show the standard to aim for.

  • Stakeholder Register. 100 rows for name, title, department, type, role on project, what they care about, concern if ignored, power and interest, current and desired engagement, strategy, communication method, contact frequency, relationship owner and last contact. Quadrant, engagement gap, next contact due, days until contact and the contact flag calculate on their own.
  • Dashboard. Counts by quadrant, engagement gaps, contacts overdue and due soon, the 5 biggest engagement gaps, the 5 next contacts due, and an engagement assessment matrix for the first 20 stakeholders.
  • Settings. Status date, project name, the High threshold, the due-soon window, engagement levels, contact frequencies, the quadrant playbook and the power and interest scales.

Also included in Complete Toolkit ($99), Initiation and Planning Pack ($49), Project Kickoff Kit ($35).

Includes a How to Use guide tab. The green Example tabs stand alone and can be deleted. Licensed for use by the individual purchaser on their own projects.

A quick tour of the workbook, narrated by Cassandra Taylor, PMP: what goes in, what calculates for you and what the dashboard shows.

Most projects don't fail because the plan was wrong. They fail because a person with power was never brought along.

I'm Cassandra Taylor, and this is the Stakeholder Register. One workbook, in Excel or Google Sheets, that shows you who can make or break your project, and how to keep them with you.

Score each person for power and interest, one to five. The workbook places them in a quadrant for you: Manage Closely, Keep Satisfied, Keep Informed, or Monitor.

Then set where they are now, and where you need them to be. The gap shows how far each person has to travel, and the strategy says who talks to them, about what, and how often.

A contact schedule keeps nobody quiet. Last contact, next contact due, and a flag the moment someone slips.

Your Dashboard reads it all. Quadrant counts, your biggest engagement gaps, the next contacts due, and an assessment matrix. Anything overdue is where you start your weekly check-in. A worked example is included.

Low interest today is not low risk. You're the conductor of the orchestra, and you can't conduct what you can't see. I stay ready, so I don't have to get ready, right? Add it to your cart and log your first stakeholder today.
